6 years of promises kept with ISG

In 2013, Gerard Milliken, our Design Manager made a commitment to ISG promising to meet a set standard. Six years later we are still striving to meet that standard on every project we complete. And on 28th March 2019, the delivery of our promise was recognised. Allan Wood and David Harvey attended ISG’s Supply Chain Conference award ceremony.  This event celebrates the developing partnerships and relationships of contractors, architects, manufacturers and supply partners. Business leaders from across the UK attended the London event with the hopes of leaving with one of ISG’s prestigious awards.

The overarching theme of the evening focusses on “Stronger Together” campaign. This campaign celebrates ingenuity and innovation in collaboration; a core value recognised in our work ethic. Allan and David graciously accepted the “Never Stop Learning” award. “Optima, a manufacturer/installer had the foresight to use a digital strategy with BIM”. As a company, we recognise that working in a 3d platform requires 3d design. Our process from concept to completion has been developed through the inclusion of the Building Information Modelling process.

Our genius design team

Chelsey Cooper our in-house designer states, “We create model generated geometry and data and this is beneficial for multiple purposes, from its own internal use to using the software externally for design.” Using Autodesk Revit®, and Autocad®, we have been able to create models that have millimetre precision.  Populating buildings with items such as small as chairs and desks to give the impression of a full final building rendering during the design stage has been a huge benefit. This is due to the fact that an architect can make slight changes before the manual labour begins “ensuring a smooth interface at sight level.”

ISG recognised us for innovation and collaboration in design, which is a huge achievement from the globally respected fit out company. Similarly, this commendation praises the development of our processes and breeds new determination to stay a world leader in glass partitions. Furthermore, to keep improving our processes from concept to completion and “Never stop learning!”

Specialised skillsets

Our in-house design team collaborate using their own specialist skillset. Chelsey Cooper specialises in 2d designs whilst Christian Murphy optimises our the 3d process. They work hard in developing their talents and have done since the inception of these rendering processes. Subsequently, Christian Murphy explains that “BIM technology within the construction industry has advanced considerably in recent years. Furthermore, we are internationally recognised for our innovative and dynamic solutions using BIM technology. We are continually striving for the highest standards in new developments, objectives, and expertise.”

In summary, accepting this prestigious award is an honour and serves as a reminder that we are providing the best service in terms of innovation possible. Furthermore, we are extremely proud of our team, and we will continue to strive to push the boundaries of contemporary design.
