Glazed Office Partitions Create Different Workzones

Premier Oil is a rapidly growing FTSE 250 independent exploration and production company with significant interests in the North Sea (UK and Norway), Indonesia, Vietnam, Pakistan, Iraq and the Falkland Islands.

“We are building a substantial business in the North Sea, and as a result of this significant increase in activity, Premier has outgrown its offices in the West End of Aberdeen. Prime Four represents the ideal environment and location from which we can manage this ongoing growth in our operations.” Mike Skitmore, UK Business Unit Manager of Premier Oil

The design for the interior fit-out of the office block provides a collaborative and open plan work space.  Individual office partitions are used to create different work zones, a mixture of private meeting rooms and breakout spaces. Feature ceilings in the reception, link to the main conference areas.  The dining and breakout spaces are colourful and bright with contrasting feature ceilings in a unique wave form.

Acoustic and Privacy Requirements Achieved

Optima 117 plus single office partitions and single glazed door sets create the office frontages. A need for increased acoustics in the meeting rooms and private spaces meant the utilisation of our double glazed office partitions. By using 12.8mm Acoustic Laminate single glazing we achieved 38db (RW) and by using 12.8mm Acoustic Laminate and 12mm toughened glass we increased the acoustic performance of the double glazing to an impressive 48db (RW).  This specification provided Premier Oil with the level of acoustic privacy they required.

To create visual privacy Optima 217 plus was used with integral venetian blinds for meeting rooms in conjunction with oak veneered timber door sets.

The seamless appearance of the glass to glass joints within the office partitions was created with our patented Nebula™ in-line joint and the black framework in RAL 9005 finished the look.
